Friends of Brower Park and the NYC Million Trees project is partnering to offer a free tree care training workshop. Sign up today and learn how to care for the trees on your block. You will learn why healthy trees contribute to a healthier and more sustainable urban environment.The TreeLC truck will be on hand with knowledgeable staff, mulch, and tools for us to use. We will using the trees on the square block that surrounds Brower Park to demonstrate good street tree care. Friends of Brower Park will be hosting future TreeLC events on streets throughout the Crown Heights Community based on your requests for a workshop.

Join us for Friends of Brower Park’s 2nd Annual Nov. 14, 2015 Leaf Crunch Event

Friends of Brower Park in partnership with the NYC Compost Project and the NYC Parks Department brings you Leaf Crunch 2015 at Brower Park.

“Love your neighborhood park?  Support it by raking this fall! We’ll collect and compost your leaves – and donate them to local greening projects. Bring your friends and family, rain or shine! We’ll provide the tools and snacks. RSVP: Email NYCCompostProject@dsny.nyc.gov by November 7, 2015.”

Come and enjoy the fragrance of fallen leaves as we rake and store them for distribution. Friends of Brower Park, partnering with the NYC Parks Department has been successfully turning leaves into leaf mold to nourish our Brower Parks green infrastructure. This year you will be able to help us winterize and nourish our gardens with our home made leaf mold. Our leaf mold is teaming with life so bring a microscope to witness a food producing ecosystem.

Engage in Art and Nature projects for both adults and children to make and take home.

St. Marks Residence Annual Pumpkin Patch

St. Marks Residence has asked Friends of Brower Park to spread the word. Join the Halloween Celebration on October 31, 2015 from 12 noon to 4pm at the 83 St. Marks Residence. Each child will receive one free pumpkin and one bag of goodies. There will be Food, Arts, And Crafts for all. This event is sponsored by ICL.
